With the Arabian hadith, ‘Seek learning even if it is far away in China,’ Ibn Battutah's
achievements were no less impressive than those of Marco Polo.
In his travels, Ibn Battutah recorded the customs, legal systems, religious practices and
social structures of various places, which had a significant impact on cross-cultural
communication and dissemination.
