"In the civil war that took place in many cities in south eastern Turkey in 2015-2016, including Diyarbakır, where I was born and raised, many parts of the city became unrecognizable. When I read the book, I remembered the city I live in. Even though what I remember today is not the same as what I see, I always experience my city as I remember it. I want to show it to you with the colours I remember, unlike the darkness in which it appears, through my own eyes."
